Ben has never forgotten a birthday or anniversary and always tries to plan something or will surprise me. This year he surprised me and Camille with our own flowers. Camille has loved having hers in her room.

Our Preschool
This year me and five other moms decided to do our own preschool. We take turns teaching, so every sixth week I have them on Monday and Wednesday mornings. It has been so fun to watch them play together and then try to focus their attention on learning. We focused on a letter, color, number and shape each week. This week I had the letter V. I helped the kids write valentine letters to their families and we mailed them, we painted a valentine craft, and for snack we talked about vegetables.
We went to the garden and picked carrots, radishes and broccoli and went inside to eat them.

Christmas 2010
Our Christmas is a little crazy, but we love it! We try to fit in seeing all of our family. If we missed someone it wouldn’t be the same. So this year our schedule looked like this:
Christmas Eve- 5:30pm to my Grandma Taylor’s (or Grandma next door) for soup and rolls, nativity and santa claus
Christmas Morning- 7am wake up kids to open gifts, cut fruit for brunch
8:30am- to my mom’s for a christmas message, 2011 book club, then opening gifts
10am- rush to get ready for Rogers Family Brunch, make biscuits
10:30am- Rogers all at mom’s for traditional breakfast- eggs, biscuits & gravy, hashbrowns and fresh squeezed orange juice
1:30pm- to Skinners to hangout, open gifts, message from Dad, yummy food and sometimes games
6:30pm- home again to our mess
8pm- Skinner adults & older cousins to see True Grit
My mom made Camille’s American girl a dress made from the same material that she make my prom dress out of! It is so cute, and I know my mom worked hard on that little dress.

Our Two Christmas Babies, Now 10 & 7!
For Camille’s birthday she invited cousins over for a slumber party. They had fun making cupcakes, swimming in the hot tub and giggling!
Evan had a friends party and it was fun watching all these boys run around the house playing. They were all in a game of Star Wars and Evan was declared the Captain because it was his birthday- he thought that was the best. When I told his friends to put the birthday presents under the Christmas tree, they thought that was funny.
One of the favorite games at our house lately has been “duck, duck, goose”. We played it when I taught Thomas’ preschool and he loves it. Although we changed the words to “reindeer, reindeer, santa” for Christmas. When we play Thomas starts laughing and will use all kinds of silly words and will go around a hundred times before he chooses someone. It is like he has been given permission to call you a name when we play.
Skinners came over for dinner on Evan’s actual birthday and we had a nice visit with them. Ice cream sundaes are always what my kids want for dessert.

November stuff
Goodbye tomatillo bush! We made Enchiladas Verdes with the fruit from our plant and then dug it out!
Evan lost one of his front teeth by hitting himself in the mouth and knocking it out while playing light sabers. It took us a little while to find the tooth on the cement.
Then on Thanksgiving day- Thomas accidently hit Evan in the mouth while throwing a ball, his other front tooth became really loose and Evan pulled it out. Toothless for Christmas.
One of Camille’s favorite things to do, practice piano. Not really, she says piano is only fun when she can play what she wants. She has started making up songs and playing by ear, picking out familiar melodies.
Evan played basketball this season with some friends.
I love this picture my talented sis in law took of Ben’s parents on Thanksgiving Day!

October Stuff
Can I tell you I hated planting this garden in 100 degree heat. Summer garden was great when we planted in February. I grumbled for the few hours I was planting that Saturday, but Ben was out there all day. Everything is coming up beautifully.
